On the morning of Tuesday, September 19, 2017, our family lost a great man.
Robert R. MacDonald, age 77 of Lacey, was the loving and devoted husband of Nellie (Spencer) MacDonald with whom he shared over 51 years of marriage.
Born in Pocatello, Idaho on November 1, 1939, Robert was the son of the late Marion and Resi (Garvin) MacDonald.
Robert was employed by the Port of Tacoma for many years as a Carpenter until his retirement.
Robert was a very talented Carpenter. He built his family home in Maytown, WA, single handedly and it still stands to this day. Robert was a master of his craft.
In his retirement, Robert spent a lot of his time working in his wood shop. Creating magnificent pieces of furniture, knick knacks, tables, you name it, Robert could make it.
Robert’s greatest devotion was to his wife Nellie, his children, grandchildren, and to his faith.
In addition to his wife, Nellie, Robert is survived by his loving children; Cherie Anderson and her husband, Chris of OR; Resi MacDonald of Lacey; Heather Wolcott and her husband, Jason of NH; Bob MacDonald and his wife, Lea'h of MT; and John MacDonald of Lacey.
He was the Grandfather of 7: Courtney and Shannon Fenner; K'lee and Wyatt MacDonald; Elizabeth, Teresa and Austin Wolcott.
Robert was the brother of Henry MacDonald, Lynn Boltz, and Sharon Pringle.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Robert’s viewing on Monday, September 25, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1602 Ruddell Road, SE, Lacey, WA 98503 followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 A.M.
