Richard John Schwalenberg age 90, died on Monday April 27, 2015 at Swedish Hospital in Seattle, WA. Born Feb. 3, 1925 to Paul and Olivet Schwalenberg in Canton, Ohio. Dick's initial career in teaching, coaching and administration was an exciting 25 years in public education in California and Oregon. After retirement Dick and his wife Mary purchased and were the last owners of the two A&A Dive in restaurants in Centralia. Dick continued in the restaurant business as a Distric Manager for VIP's Restaurants and continued in that capacity with Denny's Resturants ranging with restaurants from Des Moins to Ridgefield and on the coast in Aberdeen. His public school accomplishments given a firm foundation with degrees from Miami University (Oxford, OH), Kent State University and a doctorate from the University of Oregon. Another reconition was being awarded a Fullbright Scholarship to the Netherlands in 1950. Dick and his wife Mary were members of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Chehalis. Service in WWII and Korea as an Naval Officer was his contribution to the nation. A life time member of Masonic Lodge #63 in Centralia. Dick was preceeded in death by his beloved wife Mary with whom he shared 59 years of glorious and exciting marriage. A Graveside Service will be held 10AM Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Mt.
