Hazel Edna Breckenridge

1918 – 2016

Hazel Edna Breckenridge, 97, passed away peacefully at home on October 8, 2016.  She was born in Centralia, WA on December 8, 1918 to Edward and Ione Bronzini. Hazel is survived by her sister, Jean Stuth, and two daughters, Dianne Carter and Margo Francisco.  She had four grandchildren: Kelli Carter - Caster, Kristin Carter, Kimberly Francisco-Clark and Vaden Francisco, Jr.  Her three great grandchildren include Morgan Clark, Vaden Francisco III and Sydnee Francisco. She had one great great grandchild, Peyton Clark.

Hazel had a long and wonderful life with many interests. She was an avid sportswoman to include hunting, fishing, and white water rafting. She was an accomplished markswoman and was the National Champion twice in competitive rifle shooting. She and her husband, Dr. Jack Breckenridge, made two “works of art” out of petrified wood and all natural rocks and gems both that were displayed at the World’s Fair in 1962. Hazel went on to be a Master Gardener and donated her beautiful home and gardens for charitable events. She loved to travel internationally and in her more recent years, she made her mark as a noted artist creating beautiful jewelry made from dichroic glass.

Out of all her accomplishments, Hazel enjoyed her role as matriarch of five generations more than anything. There are angels walking on this earth disguised as Moms and she was the best. She became “Mimi” to all her family after the birth of her first grandchild. She had the most beautiful smile and shared it with everyone. She was like “a breath of fresh air” to all she met with her outgoing personality, quick wit and her tender loving ways.  She was fiercely loyal and supportive to all her family and friends.  In other words, Hazel was unforgettable.

A “Celebration of Life” will be held to honor Hazel on Saturday, October 22nd at 11:30 a.m. at the

Riverside Golf Club
